Application of Slideshare ~creating an educational lesson plan Spring 2009

General Guidelines  Small group work Groups will be chosen Must be a collaborative effort The final project presentation can be provided by the entire group or one selected member of the group

Step 1  Choose your topic Examples  Critical thinking  Test taking anxiety  Teamwork and Research projects

Step 2  Formulate an instructional plan for your lesson Example and Questions to consider:  Topic – Teamwork & Research projects  Who is your audience?  How will you disseminate the information?  Who will you disseminate the info to? Publicly or private group?

Step 3 – Let’s Begin  Develop a small powerpoint presentation utilizing the topic your group chose Save the ppt to your desktop Keep it short and simple!

Step 4  Upload the powerpoint presentation your group created to slideshare. See instructional manual

Step 5  Download the powerpoint presentation from slideshare See slideshare tutorial

Step 6  Access Youtube to choose a video to embed into your presentation Must be applicable to your topic Example of youtube clip related to Teamwork and research found at: kl6E See slideshare tutorial

Step 7  Add the powerpoint presentation including the embedded youtube clip to your slideshare group Include the instructor in the group to utilize for including instructor: See slideshare tutorial

Step 8  After step 1 – 7 have been completed, instructor will check his/her slideshare account for the created presentation by the group.

Step 9  Discussion of how slideshare could be utililzed in a student’s world. Advantages of slideshare? Disadvantages of slideshare?
