I PETER 1:1-12

There are benefits to being related to the King

Why, if we love Jesus, does life still go so hard?

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV)

4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire— may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully,

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories..

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you,

I Peter 1:1-12 (ESV) in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look

Peter wrote to encourage believers who were experiencing difficult trials to remember all that God has done for us.

Life might appear to be hanging by a thread, but God is not letting go.

Sometimes God knows we need special recognition just to get us moving again.

Our relationship with Christ is mostly about what God has done for us. Our relationship with Christ is mostly about what God has done for us.

He caused to be born again.

Your faith doesn’t hang by a thread, because God has his arms firmly around you.

“When we face serious trials, our job is to faithfully endure, trusting the promises of God”

Faith is our grip on the promises of God.

God says, “Go ahead, grip my promises tight.”

“But know this, I am never ever going to let you go.” “But know this, I am never ever going to let you go.”

So what are you so uptight about?

“In the world I WILL have tribulation”

I PETER 1:1-12
