 Data will be used for: ◦ Policy decisions ◦ Business plans ◦ Facility and trail development ◦ Monitoring disease outbreaks and conducting disease surveillance ◦ Designing relevant research and outreach programs ◦ Establishing a benchmark

 Phase 1: ◦ Statewide survey of equine operations  Inventory of all breeds of equine, including horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules  Income, expenses, and assets  Phase 2: ◦ Economic impact analysis of Kentucky’s equine industry ◦ Non-market valuation survey
