A Green House By: Trinity Mathis & Ayanna Edwards

Solar Panel A large, thin panel consisting of an array of solar cells, often attached to artificial satellites, rooftops, etc. to generate electricity directly from sunlight.

Solar House A solar house is any house that makes good use of the suns energy. It's a solar energy fact that an ordinary house becomes a solar house when it gains more energy than it looses.

About Solar Heaters Solar cells- Also known as photoelectric or photovoltaic cells, these are the most common devices that turn sunlight into electricity. Solar cells are combined into modules of which solar panels are comprised. Solar water heaters- Basically, heat from the sun is used to heat water through glass panels which are installed on roofs, known as solar collectors. Solar collectors deal with heat from the sun (solar thermal energy) as opposed to light. Solar furnaces: Solar furnaces use many strategically placed reflective surfaces, like mirrors, in order to concentrate all of the sunlight into a single point. This small space of concentrated energy creates an extreme amount of heat which can be used for making electricity, melting steel, or creating hydrogen fuel.

Geothermic House geothermal heating and cooling is the use of the earth’s temperature to heat and cool your house. Natural hot springs you visit on vacation are the result of geothermal energy. Some places, like Iceland, have water so hot under the surface that they can actually use the steam to power buildings! Of course, this is natural geothermal energy and not the artificial kind we create to use for our houses.

Recycle Recycling is the process of re-using a given product or producing a new product from a recyclable material. Recycling has many possible definitions, relating to the different processes that recycling can be involved with. The above definition explains how recycling can be as simple as re-using a given product beyond its intended use. This can be as simple as passing old clothes on to charities, friends, or relatives, in order for someone else to make use of the items

Light Positioning Having chosen a Key light position of 5:00, it is now time to begin experimenting with the position of the Fill light. Conventionally, the Fill comes from the opposite side of the Key, since its purpose is to fill in shadows from the Key. The amount of Fill light you add is a creative decision. Use the image player to move the Fill light around, seeing the effect of its position when mixed with the Key light on the subject.
