Comenius Project “Walking in each other’s shoes”

What is it about? The Mediterranean diet is one of the most complete, balanced and healthy. I’ts a diet rich in fiber and low in saturated fat, which is based on a high consumption of cereals, fruits, vegetables and legumes and include fish and olive oil like the main sources of fatty acid, essentials which contribute to the good neuronal development.

Four benefits of the Mediterranean diet. Between its main benefits the following stand out: 1. The fiber coming from cereals, legumes, fruits and vegetables has a beneficial effect favoring the intestinal transit; and contribute to balance the caloric value of the diet. 2. The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are connected with a less or risk of suffering cardiovascular diseases and some types of cancer. 3. Olive oil, fish and nuts reduce the cholesterol levels, preventing cardiovascular risk. 4. Mediterranean diet is recommended to get a good quality of life and prevent degenerative diseases. So, the nutritionists said that “improves the expectation and the quality of life proper from his natural contribution of nutrients.
