The colors of light that we see are the colors of light that an object reflects towards our eyes. ex) blue jeans absorb all colors except blue, the color blue is reflected
Seeing Light Light enters the eye and is focused on the retina. The retina contains 2 types of nerve cells. cone cells – respond to specific colors rod cells – mostly for night vision
Primary Colors of Light All colors that you see are made by combining the 3 primary colors of light: red, green & blue. When all 3 primary colors of light are combined in equal amounts, white light is produced.

Primary Pigments A pigment is any colored material that absorbs some colors and reflects others. The 3 primary pigments are: cyan, yellow & magenta. When all 3 primary pigments are combined, black is produced.
