5 Types

means animals with backbones. There are 5 ‘classes’ of animals with backbones.

Have feathers Lay hard-shelled eggs Walk on two feet Are warm-blooded Have strong, but light skeletons Have wings for two limbs

Most lay eggs Have scales Have fins for limbs Breathe through gills Live in water

Feed babies milk from the mother Have four limbs to walk on (except humans who walk on two) Have hair or fur Have live babies Are warm-blooded

Have smooth, dry, or scaly skin Most (except snakes) walk on 4 legs Always breathe with lungs Are cold-blooded Have claws (except snakes) Live on land

Breathe with gills when young Breathe with lungs when adults Live in water and on land Have smooth, slimy skin
