United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The Union Flag
Flag of the United Kingdom is commonly called the Union Jack. It is a combination of the crosses of patrons of three countries; St.George’ cross, the patron of England St. Andrew’s cross, the patron of Scotland St. Patrick’s cross, the patron of Ireland Flag of Wales does not appear on the Union flag, because when in 1603 the earliest version of the flags emerged (a combination of England and Scotland), Wales was already united with England. The current flag was established in 1801r when the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was established.
