Dorado And

History and Origin of Gold was founded on November 22, 1842 and was constituted as a municipality. ORIGIN It is difficult to establish with certainty the origin of the name of Dorado, mainly because since the first decades of the eighteenth century Dorado Site speaking in some documents of the Cabildo of San Juan. This means that if at that time and officially named him, is a lready, for some time, it was known as such Dorado.

THE SHIELD AND ITS HISTORY  Their colors are gold, silver and brown. The crown, which is located on the top of it, is enameled in gold with brown background windows. The three towers that have the crown mean that Dorado is a town, a municipality duly incorporated.   Below the crown wall, we can observe five roeles forming a T, at which Ilama Tau. This represents San Antonio de Padua, who is associated with lilies or lilies, are depicted with heraldic lilies. These roundels are brown and the lilies are silver, because they represent the majestic La Plata River which borders the town of Dorado in the east.   The gold background shield in heraldry constitutes what is called Almas speakers For example, in this case, the color gold represents directly the name of the people, is relative to the Patron Saint Anthony of Padua, whose habit is brown

 The official flag of the municipality of Dorado is composed of three (3) strips the same size as shown here, starts a gold stripe followed by a brown stripe and ends with a gold stripe. The gold or gold stripes symbolize the town's name, Gold, and brown stripe represents the Patron Saint of Dorado, San Antonio de Padua.

King's House National Monument  La Casa del Rey, Gold Built in 1823 and remodeled in 1978, is now a museum.   This house was originally built in 1823 (approximately) as hostel and civil guard barracks of Toa Baja Spanish that made their patrols in the area of "El Dorado". It consisted of the construction of four walls stone and brick, with a small ordinary prison construction and a room that served as barracks. Over time the building was abandoned mid-century and was acquired by Don Jacinto II who built a comfortable residence in country wood and masonry.   The house was always open to everyone, regardless of religious or political beliefs and race. Its last inhabitants were few authentic Creole Puerto Rican national product of miscegenation.   The old house was restored in 1978 under the guidance and supervision of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, for the enjoyment of all doradeños and Puerto Ricans. Will be devoted to the history and culture of the people of Puerto Rico Dorado. It behooves us all to help preserve what so painstakingly achieved our ancestors.

BEACH OF THE PEOPLE OF GOLD.  El Dorado Spa, Manuel "Nolo" Morales, is one of the best beaches in the north of Puerto Rico. The water is clear and the sand is beautiful. Many prepared BBQ's under the shadow of the great variety of trees that have the beach. Have sanitary facilities, showers, gazebos and lifeguards. A close to restaurants. Parking is limited.
