Area Area is the amount of surface inside a closed boundary.

Area tells the number of square units. This rectangle’s area is 6 square units. Think: AREA, SQUAREA !

Area of a Rectangle 3 inches 5 inches Multiply the length times the width. L x W = AREA 3” x 5” = 15 square inches

The area of this square is 9 square units.

And…. the area of this rectangle is 12 square units.
