Healthy Schools London at Charlotte Sharman

Why Healthy Schools London?  Increased amount of opportunities that children have to be physically active in and out of school  Increased participation of children in physical activity in and out of school  Improved links between school and communities that promote physical activity  Increased school meal uptake including free school meals  Improved children and young people’s access to healthy packed lunches and snacks throughout the school day.  Raise achievement at Charlotte Sharman

Path to Silver  Silver: in addition to holding a Bronze Award, the school will need to undertake an analysis of pupils’ needs, and identify new actions that will help pupils achieve and maintain good health and wellbeing. This should include one targeted and one school-wide action, and the school will need to make plans for how the changes will be delivered and measured.  Worked with Southwark advisors to develop plan  Universal priority of maintaining a healthy weight: Healthy eating choices and engagement with food  Targeted action of improving Oral Health

Next steps… GOLD!  To have achieved the planned outcomes that we set as targets to gain the Silver award. We will need to have recorded and reported this impact.  Demonstrated evidence of the sustainability of these changes.  Engage with the wider community, and have shared supported others to help children and young people to achieve and maintain good health and wellbeing.  Expected to meet targets July 2015 
