Let’s talk a moment about “Dysfunctional Teams... ”

Differences Between Teams and Committees u Teams –agreement by consensus –record of team meetings and action assignments within 24 hours –clear ground rules, timelines, and roles/responsibilities u Committees –vote according to Robert’s Rules –minute distribution for purposes of documentation distributed at subsequent meetings –no ground rules, timelines, or roles/responsibilities

Differences Between Teams and Committees u Teams –have a beginning and an end related to specific goals –started up by and for the organization –members have process knowledge and rotate t do work –process improvement, outcome oriented u Committees –go on and on without any end in sight –mandated by external forces –membership chose on a title only basis and remain members forever t show up t structure (policy and procedure oriented)
