HUMOR Occurs from the contradictions, ambiguities, and double meanings found in differing definitions of the same situation In order to get a joke You need the background knowledge/context of the joke Oftentimes why stand up comedians tell stories Humor is a great way of defusing tension Can be contentious if it is used to denigrate a person or groups of people
