TAI O –THE VENICE OF HONG KONG

The sea near Tai O is also home to Chinese White Dolphins.

Tai O is separated by a stretch of water. In the old days, people crossed the water by a hand-drawn sampan. A boatman pulled a rope to move the boat across the water. Now, there is a bridge for commuters instead.

Villagers in Tai O go about by boat because they live along the waterway and near the coast.

In Tai O, there are many old stilt houses. They stand on wooden stilts above the water.

Tai O is certainly a great place to spend a relaxing day when you visit Hong Kong.
