Thinking about Safety!

Why is safety important?  Equipment, Tools, materials, and activities determine how dangerous a situation is.  You need to be safe!

The right tool - hand tools  Claw Hammer- most commonly used hammer. The claw provides leverage to pull nails

Coping Saw  Used to cut curves, scroll work, and molding as finishing trim

Hacksaw  Used for cutting metal

Ball-peen hammer  Flat side to hammer chisels / round side for shaping metal

Crosscut saw  Cuts across grains of wood.

Utility Knife  For safety knife can blade can go into handle.

Tack hammer  Light weight hammer that holds and sets tacks.

Screwdivers  Phillips head – has a star on the top

Screwdriver  Regular – flat end at the top

Rubber mallet  Used for assembling project

Backsaw  Used to make fine cuts

Adjustable Wrench  Used on different bolts and nuts. Used when a boxed wrench is not available.

Power tools – Use Caution!!! Power tools – Use Caution!!!  These tools are powered by electricity- also called electric tools.

Band Saw  Cuts curves and makes wood a thinner size.
