The Tale Of Despereaux By Kate DiCamillo Nathan Miller

Despereaux, our hero  Desperaux is a mouse, born in the kingdom of Dor.  As Desperaux grew up he became to love a Princess named Pea and the sayings, “I honor you” and “Once upon a time.”  He is determined and courageous  Desperaux is like a knight or a solider fighting for what he believes in  Desperaux is very small, has huge ears, he is polite, and charming  His problem is the mouse council won’t let him spend time with humans, especially Pea.  Because of this he has to wear a red thread around his neck, attached to the thread is a needle this is to be worn by a mouse who has caused treason.  Poor Desperaux is sent to the dungeon with RATS!  There he meets Chiaroscuro or Roscuro who plans to kill pea with Miggery Sow  When Desperaux finds this out he tries to do everything he can to stop them

Happily Ever After  Desperaux escapes getting more thread  When he arrives back to the dungeon he cuts off Roscuro’s tail  In the end Desperaux learns tghat you should always fight for what you believe in  In the end everyone lives HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
