Podcast A podcast is a digital media file, or a series of such files, that is distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds, for playback on portable media players and personal computers. In the beginning a podcast was audio-only, but not anymore. The rising popularity of video cellphones, cost- effective digital cameras and mini digital video cameras has given anyone with a home computer the necessary tools to put together video podcasts about any subject that comes to mind.

Blogs A blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order. Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.

Wikis Wikipedia is the ever-evolving work of hundreds-of- thousands of volunteer writers and editors who range from high school students to academic scholars. This leaves the online encyclopedia open to criticism and ridicule. RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcast.

Streaming Video Streaming media is multimedia that is continuously received by, and normally displayed to, the end-user whilst it is being delivered by the provider. The name refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than to the medium itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over telecommunication networks, as most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CD’s). The verb 'to stream' is also derived from this term, meaning to deliver media in this manner.
