Guyana motto — "One people, one nation, one destiny"  Dear land of Guyana, of rivers and plains, Made rich by the sunshine, and lush by the rains. Set gem-like and fair, between mountains and sea, Your children salute you, dear land of the free. Green land of Guyana, our heroes of yore, Both bondsmen and free, laid their bones on your shore. This soil so they hallowed, and from them are we, All sons of one mother, Guyana the free. Great land of Guyana, diverse though our strains, We are born of their sacrifice, heirs of their pains. And ours is the glory their eyes did not see, One land of six peoples, united and free. Dear land of Guyana, to you will we give, Our homage, our service, each day that we live. God guard you, Great Mother, and make us to be More worthy our heritage, land of the free.

 GUYANA SPORTS  Cricket is the national sport of Guyana, The British introduced cricket to Guyana, People from Guyana excel at the sport and are often recruited to play for the English cricket clubs, Football (soccer) is the next most popular field game for both children and young adults. Guyanese children also engage in other sports such as volleyball, basketball, North American-style football, golf, badminton, tennis, field hockey, cycling and boxing.

 Guyana's economy is dominated by the production and processing of primary commodities, of which sugar, gold and bauxite are the most important. Much of the country is undeveloped, with more than 90% of the population and almost all of the agriculture concentrated in the narrow coastal plain. The interior is sparsely settled, and communications are poor. The bulk of the population is engaged in agriculture, either as laborers on sugar plantations or as peasant cultivators of rice.

What do you or your peers like the most about Guyana?  I like that Guyanese people make a lot out of nothing…they might not have a lot but they know how to use their resources to make the best of it 
