Syllabus Please feel free to follow along in your syllabus and/or take notes as I read certain items off to you. Please have the final page signed (on both) and returned to me by Friday (8/23). It will be an easy “A” for those who get it in on time.

Expectations Tardiness (3 strike rule: effective week 2) Dress Code Violations will be sent down to bldg. 3 No cursing, racial slurs, bullying, teasing, etc. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY Raise your hand to be acknowledged Due dates are due dates, the day isn’t officially over until I leave the staff parking lot.

Grading Policy Summative: 60/Formative: 40 Due Date/ Deadline Receipt Book “M” = Missing, will turn into “0” after deadline “Z” = student was present, didn’t complete assignment, equals a “0”. “X” = Exempt, assignment will neither count for or against students’ GPA 10 day make-up policy for summative (formative = 5)

Cell Phones Silent/Off & AWAY!!! There will be occasional times where I will ask you to use your phones for an activity, but this will be a rarity. On reading days students MAY listen to music at an acceptable volume. Remember that this is a privilege and it can be taken away. Reading apps WILL NOT be allowed via cell phone on reading days. However Nooks, Kindle, and eReaders will be allowed. (No iPads, cell phones, iPods, or tablets; sorry)
