War between Britain and France breaks out in the colonies. French and Indian War- War fought over colonial territory between the French and Native Americans VS. The English colonists (The Iroquois did not ally) Albany Plan of Union- Ben Franklin suggested a plan to unite the colonies. “Join or Die.” Treaty of Paris England wins-marked the end of France as a power in North America. Great Britain and Spain divided the continent using the Mississippi River as the boundary. Proclamation of King George III did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. Britain’s reasons for the proclamation line was to prevent any further wars with the Natives. Why would colonists be mad they couldn’t settle west?

Colonial Discontent War Cry “no taxation without representation”- Colonist wanted to have a voice in Parliament –the law making body that made decisions in England and the colonies Taxes- England placed a large amount of taxes on the colonies to pay off the French and Indian War debt Boycott- Refusal to buy or sell goods.
