CAB CUMULATIVE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

An annotation is a summary and/or evaluation. Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources. Depending on your project or the assignment, your annotations may do one or more of the following.

Summarize Assess Reflect

Use MLA/APA Qualifications Perspective Summary Assess/Reflect

Critical Literature Review

A critical analysis of a single source, either a book or journal article, usually 2-3 pages in length, but this can vary. A critical literature review is NOT a summary or book report. Rather, the critical annotation notes: the author's purpose and point of view, describes the key contributions, and analyzes its strengths and shortcomings, particularly with respect to logic of argument, validity of evidence, bias, and/or methodology

Use proper source style Qualifications Perspective Analysis Footnotes Citation for direct quote
