Practice SIT. Provision and impacts 8. Managing visitor impacts Tourism affects host communities, placing increased demand on services and amenities. The main problem is to identify the indicators that are sensitive to economic benefit and visitor satisfaction and effectively monitoring the social and ecological carrying capacity of a particular place, time and activity mix.
