The genre of Fiction can be defined as narrative literary works whose content is produced by the imagination and is not necessarily based on fact. In fiction something is feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story. One example of Fiction is the Fairy Tales or wonder tales are a kind of folktale or fable. Sometimes the stories are about fairies or other magical creatures, usually for children.

Read and Write your Response: STUDENTS READ THIS ALONE You will have 10 minutes to write 3-5 lines and make connections to text. SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN: by the Brothers Grimm version of 1812 (Germany, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm) QUESTION: Explain and elaborate the role of the HUNTSMAN. Why does the Queen want this task to be done? What is the important role of the Huntsman in the excerpt you have been given to read? Find TEXT evidence to explain and support your answer. The queen becomes jealous, and orders a huntsman to take Snow White into the woods to be killed. She demands that the huntsman, as proof of killing Snow White, return with her lungs and her liver. The huntsman takes Snow White into the forest, but after raising his knife to stab her, he finds himself unable to kill her as he has fallen deeply in love with her. Instead, he lets her go, telling her to flee and hide from the Queen. He then brings the queen the lungs and the liver of a boar which is prepared by the cook and eaten by the queen. The HUNTSMAN’s mission is to bring the evil queen her rival's heart, he ends up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.
