1.Greetings & brainstorm: Talk about the advantages & disadvantages of keeping a hamster.

2. Learn about writing strategies: Read an article about a pot-bellied pig & find out the following stategies: (1)Introduction (topic sentence) (2)Main body (3)Conclusion

3.Write an article about a favourite pet. Writing steps: Step 1: Introduction (Topic sentence ): Step 2: What kind of animal it is. Step 3: Main body: Describe its appearance, personality & lifestyle. Step 4: Conclusion: How to write some sentences to make a conclusion. Step 5: Check. Step 6: Presentation.

4.Discussion: Ss. discuss with partners & sort their ideas for the introduction, main body & conclusion as details. 5.Ss. write the whole passage & check by themselves. 6. T. may go around guiding the students to think of some good sentences or help them with new words while they are writing.

7.T. shows some works of several Ss. to all & help them to make comments for them. 8.Ss. exchange their works to correct the mistakes they can find. 9.Read the sample writings aloud to motivate Ss. and reward their achievements & hard work.
