 Beckov is one of the oldest castles in the former Uhorska. It was seen by millions of Slovaks. It was also built around the 13 th century.

 King Ctibor lived in Beckov. Beckov was used for knights. It was destroyed in the 1700s by a fire.

 The Chapel had wooden seats. It included a lot of paintings and sculptures including the famous sculpture, Black Madona. It was used for mass for the people who lived in the castle.

 I chose this castle because I have visited it. I already know a lot of information about it. Maybe I can even bring a couple of pictures of me standing in front of the catapult.

 Duke Ctibor had sons. He owned the castle with his son Ctibor for a while. Ctibor had his own palace in the castle and it was huge!

 The Northern Palace was used as a home for the nobles. It had large Gothic Windows. It was also built by Duke Ctibor.

 The Western Palace was used as a representative living space. It is very old. It was also built by Duke Ctibor.

 The legend is about the Duke coming from a battle. Everyone tried to cheer him up, but they failed. Finally, the jester named Becko succeeded. Ctibor ordered to have a castle built in his honor.

 Matus Cak built part of my castle. He was a land owner, not a king. Matus was very famous in Slovakia.

 My castle is located in Slovakia South of Trencin. It is on a steep 70 meter high cliff. There was no moat because of the protection of the cliff.

The castle was so strong that it could not be beaten by the Tartars on their invasion of Hungary. The original name of the castle was Blundix (Labyrinth) because of the complicated layout of buildings and structures.
