Vocabulary Introduced Monday Daily Practice Monday Homework – Choose 3 vocab. words and write 3 sentences
Spelling Introduced Monday- Pretest Daily Practice Spelling Box Homework (in Spelling Notebook) – 3 assignments for the week MUST include sentences – Sentences must consist of 7-8 words – ALL 3 assignments due Thursday Assessment given Friday – Please sign and return tests with student’s incorrect words written 3 times each on the back
Journey’s Reading & Language Arts Assessments Weekly tests include: - vocabulary- phonics - comprehension - grammar - written response Please correct tests with your child, then sign and return them – You do not need to fix the comprehension section! – Two nights to complete corrections Curriculum is spiraled, so topics get repeated (i.e. students are not expected to master concepts the first time around)
