Me and Dom’s Dribble Around the World By Murray Grayston Feat. Dominique Malonga

Dom’s Dribbling Pace Dominique Malonga dribbles at roughly 6 m/s (when rounded). This is 21.6 km/h. I know this as in the below video he dribbles ¾ of Hibs, 77m, in 13 seconds and bangs one in against Aberdeen. Please not all times rounded to nearest hour.

The Story… So Dominque Malonga and I decided to see how long it would take him to dribble around the world with me, visiting landmarks in several different countries. We started off at Dom’s home ground Easter Road.

First of all we went to Buckingham Palace England, which was 665km away. t = d/t = 665 / 21.6 = 31hrs (to nearest hour)

Then we went to the Eiffel Tower in France, this was 459km away. t = d/t = 459 / 21.6 = 21hrs (to nearest hour)

Next came a trip to the Taj Mahal in India, this was 6,755km away. t = d/t = 6,755 / 21.6 = 313hrs (to nearest hour)

After that we took a trip to the opera house in Sydney, this was 10,260km away. t = d/t = 10,260 / 21.6 = 475hrs

Then we decided to go to Antarctica, this was 5,480km away. t = d/t = 5,480 / 21.6 = 254hrs

The next place we went to was Madagascar, this was 7,907km away. t = d/t = 7,907 / 21.6 = 366hrs (to nearest hour)

Then we went to the Sahara Desert, this was 5,221km away. t = d/t = 5,221 / 21.6 = 242hrs (to nearest hour)

After this we went to the Christ the redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, this was 9,039km away. t = d/t = 9,039 / 21.6 = 418hrs (to nearest hour)

After this we went to New York to visit the Empire State building, this was 7,757km away. t = d/t = 7,757 / 21.6 = 359hrs (to nearest hour)

After this we took a short trip across the city to the statue of Liberty, this was 7km away. t = d/t = 7 / 21.6 = 0.3hrs = 18 minutes

The last place we visited was the Icelandic Volcano, this was 4,305 km away. t = d/t = 4,305 / 21.6 = 199hrs

Then we went back home to Easter road, this was 1,247 km away. t = d/t = 1,247 / 21.6 = 58hrs

Summary In total Dom and I travelled 59,102 km, visited 12 different places and visited all 7 continents in the world. This took around 2736 hours and 18 minutes. This is just over 114 days. We had a ball of a time! Here is a map showing where we visited.
