Pooled Caucus Agenda Call to order Pledge of Allegiance Appointment of Temporary Secretary Election of Permanent Caucus Chairman Election of Permanent Caucus Secretary Resolutions and Platform Discussion Other Business Adjourn to Individual Precinct Caucuses

Pooled Caucus Agenda Call to Order (no earlier than 10:00 am) Pledge of Allegiance Registration of precinct attendees Explain caucus schedule for Feb. 20 First, Pooled Caucus Second, Individual Precinct Caucuses Explain appointed chairman and secretary Explain election of chairman and secretary (appointed people can be elected)

Registration of Precinct Attendees Find list of registered voters for each precinct in envelope on precinct table Find your name and sign Republican declaration; add phone number, address, and Presidential preference If you don’t find your name on the list, are you at the right precinct table? Check the precinct maps or ask for help

Election of Pooled Caucus Chairman Open floor to nominations for permanent caucus chairman Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Call for voice vote of caucus attendees Announce vote results If permanent chairman is not temporary chairman, turn over caucus to new chairman

Election of Pooled Caucus Secretary Open floor to nominations for permanent caucus secretary Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Call for voice vote of caucus attendees Announce vote results If permanent secretary is not temporary secretary, turn over to new secretary

Resolutions and Platform Discussion Note that copies of Platform are on precinct tables Explain BCRP Platform history Explain connection/development of BCRP/WSRP/National platform documents Explain that platform issues should be discussed at individual precinct caucuses, comments should be recorded by Secretary

Adjourn to Individual Precinct Caucuses End the pooled caucus and have PCOs or temporary precinct caucus Chairs begin the individual precinct caucuses – call to order

Individual Precinct Caucus Agenda Call to order Appointment of Temporary Secretary Election of Permanent Caucus Chairman Election of Permanent Caucus Secretary Nomination and Election of Delegates (start no later than 11:30 am) Nomination and Election of Alternates Adjournment

Individual Precinct Caucuses The PCO is the Chairman of the precinct caucus -- unless there is no PCO -- someone needs to take charge of the caucus as a temporary Chairman -- instructions will be needed The PCO or the temporary Chairman appoints someone as a temporary secretary Assure that all attendees have signed the Registration List Must register to have a precinct vote

Election of Chairman, if necessary If there is a PCO, they are the Chairman If there is no PCO, the temporary Chairman calls for nominations for Chairman Open floor to nominations for permanent caucus chairman Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Call for voice vote of caucus attendees Announce vote results If permanent chairman is not temporary chairman, turn over caucus to new chairman

Election of Permanent Secretary Open floor to nominations for permanent caucus secretary Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Call for voice vote of caucus attendees Announce vote results If permanent secretary is not temporary secretary, turn over to new secretary

Election of Delegates to County Convention This process MUST begin no later than 11:30 am Explain duties and responsibilities of delegates to County Convention -- instructions will be needed Explain number of delegates (X) allocated to the precinct, based on number of registered voters in precinct -- instructions will be needed Explain nomination and voting procedure -- instructions will be needed

Election of Delegates to the County Convention (continued) Open floor to nominations of delegates Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Have nominees introduce themselves Call for ballot of caucus attendees; vote for X delegates Have Secretary (and teller) count votes for each nominee The top X vote getters are the precinct delegates Secretary records results on delegate forms

Election of Alternate Delegates to County Convention Open floor to nominations for first alternate Any other nominations (3 times) Close nominations Have nominees introduce themselves Call for ballot of caucus attendees; vote for first alternate only Have Secretary (and teller) count votes for each nominee The top vote getter is the first alternate Secretary records results on alternate forms Repeat this process until X alternates are elected

Discussion of BCRP Platform Precinct attendees should have reviewed platform PCO/Chairman reviews issues and leads discussion of platform Precinct attendees express concerns/comments Secretary records summary of comments on copy of platform

Records Collection Secretary collects all comments on platform Secretary collects Registration Lists Secretary puts all records, including elected delegates and alternates, in envelope Secretary returns all precinct records to pooled caucus Chairman/Secretary Adjournment
