Northwest Regional ESD DRAFT STRATEGIC PLAN DECEMBER 2015

Mission: In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support.

Values:  Equity  Partnership  Student Success  Innovative Service

Goals: 1.Increase student outcomes in the region so more students graduate from high school ready to succeed in college, career, and civic life. 2.Become the region’s premier provider to the highest quality educational services. 3.Increase educational equity across the region. 4.Be an employer where staff of all backgrounds thrive.

Goal 1: Increase student outcomes in the region so more students graduate from high school ready to succeed in college, career, and civic life. Increase early learning opportunities for children 0-5.  Identify all children 0-5 in region  Fund mixed delivery preschool  Increase Kinder Camp Increase high school graduation rates.  Engaging teachers at ESD high schools through professional development and support  Develop indicator/matriculation program and response for school districts  CTE/STEM/College Going/Counseling support  Blended Learning Increase postsecondary engagement through Promise Grant(s).

Goal 2: Become the region’s premier provider to the highest quality educational services. All 20 districts participating and receiving value.  Establish district recruitment and support team  Customer focus Develop new and strengthen existing partnerships with community colleges, business, STEM, CTE, and Industry.  Include partners in new grants Improve quality of fiscal and technology supports.

Goal 3: Increase educational equity across the region. Closing achievement and opportunity gaps.  District/school support teams for identified districts/schools ESD demographics mirror student demographics.  Increase diversity in recruitment pool Differentiated service plan adopted that ensures small/rural districts receive equitable support. Strong equity plan operationalized across all offices at NWRESD.  Professional development for all ESD staff and board  ESD run schools have school specific plans

Goal 4: Be an employer where staff of all backgrounds thrive. Internal alignment to mission, values, and strategic plan.  Budget and audit  Align employee evaluations and professional development goals  Internal communication campaign Employees are satisfied and engaged.  Increase wellness supports for all staff, focus on direct services staff Develop current talent and retain top talent.  Improve employee evaluation system, align to mission and values  Improve opportunities for development and growth  Employee recognition

Next Steps:  Evaluate data to establish targets and trajectories  Involve cross office team to workshop specific objectives  Present draft with metrics to all staff  Gather feedback and complete revisions  Present final draft to the board
