Journal Respond to the prompts using complete sentences When you hear the word “anthem,” what do you think of? Why? Why might this book be called Anthem ?

Anthem Definition: (noun) a rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause. Genres:  Rock Anthem - a rock-and-roll song that becomes so popular that it is considered an "anthem", esp. in sports context.  Queen “We Are the Champions”  Guns N Roses “Welcome to the Jungle”  National Anthem - a patriotic song or hymn; especially : one adopted officially and played or sung on formal occasions as a mark of loyalty to the nation.  USA  Canada  Etc.  Religious Anthem – a song of loyalty or devotion

Reading Party Wednesday Read the first ten pages of Anthem Take notes as you read. Do a double-entry journal, where you write a quote from the text + page number on the left of your notes and your thoughts/comments/observations on the right You should have at least one entry on your notes per page of text !!
