ADVANCED PLACEMENT [AP] CALCULUS SINO-CANADA HIGH SCHOOL

WHAT IS AP?  AP is a college-level program designed to allow a high school student to learn a subject in greater depth than a high school-level course.

WHICH SCHOOLS ACCEPT AP?  90% of all universities in Canada, including UBC, UVic, McGill, Waterloo, Toronto, and Alberta  80% of all colleges and universities in the United States

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Students must have achieved:  Math 10 >86%  Pre-Calculus 11 >86%  Pre-Calculus 12 >86% [midterm score]  English 10 >66%  English 11 >73%  Communications 12 >73%  English 12 >66% [midterm score]  Graduation Transitions 12 >75% [midterm score]

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS  Students who meet all eight of these requirements will be admitted without an interview. Students who meet at least six of these requirements may be admitted after an interview with the BC principals.  In order to remain enrolled in this course, students must be concurrently enrolled in and achieving above 60% in English 12 and above 75% in Graduation Transitions 12.

WHEN WILL THIS BE OFFERED?  This will be an E block semestered class, starting November 16, 2015 and ending April 29,  The AP exam will be written at an approved AP Testing Centre in Shanghai on May 5, 2016.

COSTS  There is a testing fee charged by the College Board Company, and may be a local fee charged by the testing centre. These fees will total approximately 250 USD.
