A Day in an Early Education Class drop off morning activities outside play morning activities lunch in two sittings Thur/Fri getting ready for home or after school activities Mon/Tue/Wed outside play afternoon activities getting ready for home or after school activities

early duty Parents bring their children through Gate M to the Early Education classes in the Modular Building. Children can be dropped off early between 8.05 and 8.25 in their classrooms. Parents help to put slippers on, put away coats and bags etc.

Start of the Day L1 (mother tongue) children are picked up at 8.20 by their L1 teacher. Teaching begins at 8.25 sharp.

Morning activities Morning activities tend to be more structured than the afternoon. Activities include pre-literacy, pre-numeracy, art, sports, library etc and lots of play.

Snack Time The children bring a healthy snack and drink every day for snack. This is a sociable relaxed time.

Outside Playtime

Lunchtime Children wash their hands and get ready for lunch. Lunch is eaten in the school canteen. Children are served and helped by the staff. Canteen is run by menuepartner

After Lunch On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (long days) the children go outside to play. On Thursdays and Fridays the children go back to class and prepare for afterschool activities, childminding or going home.

Quiet Time On the long days the children have the opportunity to relax. Sleep is optional, most children listen to stories or soft music and read books.

Afternoon Activities The afternoons are more relaxed. Activites can include art, ipads, music, drama and free play.

Going Home Children have an afternoon snack before tidying up and getting ready to go home. Children listen to stories and sing songs at the end of the day. Parents wait at Gate M to collect their children at (Monday – Wednesday) or (Thursday and Friday). Parents should wait at the bottom of the stairs at Gate M where the teacher will meet you with the children. Children who go to Childminding or After School Activities are picked up from the classroom.
