Cancer in Children Cancer has been the leading cause of death in the U.S. in children 1-14 years old There has been an increase in the numbers of children diagnosed with cancer The chances of children dying has decreased and the five year survival rate has increased Children with cancer have an 80 percent chance of being cured
Cancer Cancer forms when cells start to grow out of control Cancer cells continue to grow and grow overtop of each other forming a tumor Growing cancer cells demand a lot of the body’s nutrients everyday

Reflection What I learned about: Myself: I enjoy helping others, especially children Career: The research and experience I went through while doing the project made me certain that I want to pursue a medical career as a doctor Was the project worthwhile overall It was because it helped me be more responsible and it helped me get out of my comfort zone and learn and experience new things.
