My Expectations Worthy Ideal You are what you think you are and become what you believe! I think we all do the best we can with what we know; after taking this course, you will know more, so as you parent, or as you work in the field, my hope is that you will do better because you know better!

A Typical Day My plan for a typical day in Early Childhood Services: We start with the reading of a book. I will bring them at first; feel free to bring an old favorite, if you have one. We will work – mostly overheads, some notes, handouts, group discussions. We will end with an activity – artwork, rhyme, song, play. Periodically, I will show you a movie that reflects a child’s life in a different culture or in a different time. If you have one in mind, please help me devise a list!

Journal Every Friday, you need to submit a journal: this is informal, I want to hear your voice and to discover what you are thinking about and how you are doing. 1) what have you learned this week? A little summary of the content 2) what do you “get”? 3) what confuses you? 4) what excites you or surprises you? 5) Do you have anything to share --- does what we are learning prompt you to think about your childhood? About your experience with a child in your life? About your career future?
