Children are rewarded on a Friday with Friday activities. Each class has 2 toys, 1 is for using good manners and the other is for good work. These are given out daily. The Merit box will be given on a weekly basis to a child who has shown excellent behaviour and effort in all areas of school life. The children who are always good will be invited to a tea party with a senior member of staff.

Long hair must be tied back and ear rings removed or covered with plasters provided by parents or carers. Letters will be sent home if children come without kit 3 times.

Homework Homework will be set on a Friday to be returned on Tuesday. Learning logs Reading Mental maths Subscription to My Maths and access to Oxford Owls

Spelling Children will no longer have spellings sent home with a test every week. Children will be learning spelling patterns relevant to their learning needs and year group. Parents will still be able to support their child at home following the guidance to be given to you this evening.

Targets Writing Reading Mental Maths Personal These are things the children are almost able to do independently and consistently.

How can I support my child? Clear communication between home and school. Encourage them to take pride and responsibility for their work and belongings. Listen to your child read and read with them. Support them to complete their homework. Anything to help them achieve their mental maths targets.

School Council The children will be nominating themselves to become a school councillor and the class will vote one child from each class to represent Year 2.

After school activities Football – Tuesday and Wednesday Cheerleading

Suggestions Are there things that you would like to happen that do not currently take place? Please go away and think about this and let us know. Thank you for your support in our three way partnership.
