Introduction: God is not looking for just any kind of worshippers. God is looking for faithful Christians who will obey his voice. To be a good Christian is to be obedient to the words of God. One is not a Christian if he/she does not obey God’s words as written in the scriptures. God told Israel to obey him (Deut. 27:9-10).

God protested to Israel to obey his voice (Jer. 11:7). God used the obedience of the sons of Rechab to condemn Israel disobedience (Jer. 35:1-19). God expects us to obey him from our hearts, not eye service (Deut 26:16, Mt 15:8, Rom. 6:17).

OBEDIENCE MAKE GOD SEE HOW WE HONOUR OR LOVE HIM Obedience shows our love for God (Jn 14:15,21). It proves that we know him (1Jn 2:2-3, 2Jn 6). It proves that we dwell in him (1Jn 3:24). It proves our faithfulness to him (1Jn 2:4-5). It proves our submissiveness to Christ (Lk 6:46, Eph. 5:23-24). It proves that we are walking in the light (1Jn 1:5-7).

GOD BLESSES OBEDIENCE A blessing is for the obedient (Deut. 11:26-27, Ps. 1:1-3). Obedience brings good success (Jos. 1:8). God gives spiritual blessings to the obedient (Acts 5:32). Salvation is for only the obedient (Rev. 2:17).

THERE’S MATERIAL BLESSINGS FOR THE OBEDIENT Blessings will overtake the obedient (Deut 28:2). Prosperity awaits the obedient (Job 36:11). You shall eat the good of the land (Isa 1:19).

CONCLUSION Let us all who wants salvation and success in life be obedient to Gods words. It will bring to pass what it promises. May God help us to be obedient to his words in Jesus name. Amen!
