Call us at QUICK START Zoom in and out As you work on your poster zoom in and out to the level that is more comfortable to you. Go to VIEW > ZOOM. Title, Authors, and Affiliations Start designing your poster by adding the title, the names of the authors, and the affiliated institutions. You can type or paste text into the provided boxes. The template will automatically adjust the size of your text to fit the title box. You can manually override this feature and change the size of your text. TIP: The font size of your title should be bigger than your name(s) and institution name(s). Adding Logos / Seals Most often, logos are added on each side of the title. You can insert a logo by dragging and dropping it from your desktop, copy and paste or by going to INSERT > PICTURES. Logos taken from web sites are likely to be low quality when printed. Zoom it at 100% to see what the logo will look like on the final poster and make any necessary adjustments. TIP: See if your school’s logo is available on our free poster templates page. Photographs / Graphics You can add images by dragging and dropping from your desktop, copy and paste, or by going to INSERT > PICTURES. Resize images proportionally by holding down the SHIFT key and dragging one of the corner handles. For a professional-looking poster, do not distort your images by enlarging them disproportionally. Image Quality Check Zoom in and look at your images at 100% magnification. If they look good they will print well. ORIGINAL DISTORTED Corner handles Good printing quality Bad printing quality QUICK START (cont.) Also, different models have been published and new ones continue to evolve that center on the teacher’s role in providing feedback to enhance medical performance 3,2. Feedbak is used as an essentiol tool at the reviewing stage of the curriculum development in many institutions 4 Picture Picture 1 - Curriculum Development Steps 5 It is an important source of improvement of medical curricula. It serves as a tool for assessment as well as a guide to improve medical curricula and teaching methods. INTRODUCTION OBJECTIVES and METHODOLOGY RESULTS OBJECTIVES Our objectives were: -Gathering information about different feedback systems used in Medical Schools in Turkey. -Showing the characteristics of feedback systems of medical schools of Turkey by analyzing: -the methods used when taking feedback -the intention to share program feedback with other stakeholders -student participation ratio -use of group feedback, if any -Showing the differences between how the program coordinators, the student representatives and students who are involved in medical education perceive feedback systems METHODOLOGY We conducted a thirteen questions questionnaire to collect information, by the help of a network of student leaders (TurkMSIC) from 22 different medical schools. In each school, the questionnaire was filled by: -2 students -One student leader in medical education (Turkish Medical Students International Committee Local Officers of Medical Education) -One student representative (Formal Student Representatives of Medical Schools) -1 faculty member who has a role in program coordination 48 participants from 22 medical schools filled out the questionnaire. Out of those 48, we had: -21 Student leaders in Medical Education -12 student representatives -15 faculty members CONCLUSION AND DISCUSSION Feedbacks are mostly received for evaluating a single subject or a committee. There isn’t any association between percentage of students involved and years of study. Feedback is taken mainly by printed questionnaires. Just a few institutions use web based systems Feedback questionnaries include around %20 open-ended inquiries. Individual feedback is used more than group feedback. The feedback format is the same for all students which might mean that specific needs of students are not being taken into account. There are considerable differences between the answers of the faculty and students. Sharing results of feedbacks with students is poor, while results of feedback analyses are mostly shared with departments, teachers and program development committees. Most schools are open to sharing their feedback results with other stakeholders. There are considerable amount of schools where feedback is mandatory. There might be further research needed to see whether feedback should be taken voluntarily or mandatory. CONTACT INFO 1)Hesketh E, Laidlaw J. Developing the teaching instinct, 1: feedback.
