Why I chose this painting… I chose the painting Boats on the Seine mainly for two reasons. The first reason that I find this painting so fascinating is it fills me with a feeling of peacefulness and calmness. The reflection of the boats on the clear water and all of the houses neatly lined up on the street in the background just takes me away from all of the craziness going on around me. The second reason I really like this painting is that it makes me feel like going on an adventure, because when I look at those boats all tied up on the dock and full of supplies, I want to jump right into one of them and set sail on an adventure.

Artwork Information Name: The Cabbage Seller Name: The Cabbage Seller Artist: Diego Rivera Artist: Diego Rivera Date of Composition: 1936 Date of Composition: 1936 Artistic Era: Dada and Surrealism Artistic Era: Dada and Surrealism

Why I chose this painting… I chose the painting The Cabbage Seller because it makes me feel thankful for the life I have. This painting helps me realize how good I have it in this part of America so I am not forced to do back-breaking labor like so many people are in third world countries. It also gets me thinking how much work goes into every little thing in our lives, even something as little as cabbage. Finally, the painting portrays the struggle of this man and many other humans that have to do this on a daily basis, and kind of opens my eyes to what goes on, which is why I am so fond of this painting.

Artwork Information: ► Artist: El Greco ► Name: View of Toledo ► Date of Composition: ► Artistic Era: Baroque

Why I chose this painting… I chose the painting View of Toledo simply because I like the way it looks. When I look at this painting, it is hard to put into words what I feel about it. I am the kind of person who enjoys staying inside during storms because I love seeing the bright flash of the lightning followed by the booming thunder, and the constant howl of the wind. This painting reminds me of just that, so it makes me feel like I am in my warm cozy house on top of that hill watching the storm pass over the city. Also, I think it is just an amazing view in the first place that I will never get tired of looking at it.
