Wednesday - Bell Ringers 1.In your own words, define entrepreneur. 2.List 2 characteristics that you personally possess that you think would make you a successful entrepreneur. Explain Why!!! 3.Project planning Day 1: 11/19

How do freedoms differ within the economic systems of UK, Russia, and Germany? How do these economic systems encourage/discourage entrepreneurs to be creative in their businesses? Essential Questions

You are in a meeting with other entrepreneurs. Your “host” country has asked that you come into their boundaries and create a sportswear company. Based on the specific instructions from within your country, decide what product your company will specialize in, how you will produce it, and who the products will be sold to. Focus on creating a product which consumers will actually want, and design the business to be as productive as you can. You will write out and draw your product. Keep it neat and organized, and also keep it short. You will be presenting your business idea to your peers and will then put your country on the continuum.

Day 1 Tasks: Today you will complete Meeting Session 1 & 2 only! (~15 min each) What product your company will specialize in, How you will produce it, and (human and capital goods finances) Day 2: Finish Visuals and decide Who the products will be sold to! (marketing) Rehearse your presentation.

Continuum: Day 2 Bell Ringer While the groups are presenting, each student will create a continuum on their own paper and place each of the 4 countries on this continuum showing whether they are closer to command, or market. Each country needs a one sentence explanation of why you placed it where you did on the continuum. **Go ahead and place your own country on this continuum now and write a sentence telling why!! **

Day 3: You must write a paragraph about being an entrepreneur in today’s activity. How did it feel? How did your personal qualities contribute to the ideas within your company? Was it risky or not? What kinds of fears did you have in creating your business? Do you think your business would be more successful in a different country? Would you like more or less gov’t control? Could your company benefit their country? Summarize how this was a learning experience.
