Answer the following Questions in your notes 11) How do you think the attitude of parents in the video clip effect their children? 22) In 2-3 sentences, answer the question. “Who Am I?” 33) bring to mind someone who has served as a support provider to them --- a friend, a colleague, or someone in their professional context --- someone with whom they have a trusting relationship. Write their name down. 44) How has this person’s behaviors, language, and attitudes effected your view of your own self- concept?

Are there more good or evil people in this world? Explain.

Carl Rogers Person Centered Theory  Believed that everyone’s main goal is to achieve self actualization  In order to achieve Self Actualization….environment must be genuine, accepting, and empathetic-----  way people think of us effect the way we feel of ourselves

We are always evaluated! PPositive Regard- people (mostly children) always seek people’s approval! How so? TThe Conditions of Worth- the person, instead of the behavior is evaluated

In order to be self- actualized we need….  Unconditional Positive Regard- an attitude of total acceptance toward another person.  Empathetic- showing understanding to people.  All aspects effect how we view our self.

This assignment will help you review the 3 theorists that we just discussed in class  Directions: You will create a poster that summarizes the 3 major psychologists we have studied so far and the different concepts to their theories.  Step 1: Break your Poster down into 3 sections- Sigmund Freud, Abraham Maslow, and Carl Rogers  Step 2: Summarize each of the psychologists’ theories in  Example: Under Freud I would write. “Sigmund Freud believed in the unconscious……..”  Step 3: Define any key words and terms under each psychologist. Under step 2 define any key terms.  Step 4: Make it look creative!  Pointers: Work as a team. Assign each person a task! One person could be the Freud expert, while another could be a Maslow Expert.
