RECYCLING

A t the end of the project, the participating students are expected to create the awareness of recycling among primary school students

After this lesson, students should be able to:- List out the importance of 3R policy and the benefits; Work collaboratively to analyze the data and carry out the recycle project; To distinguish non perishable materials into the correct recycling bins; Create products from the waste materials.

Grades of targeted students: Year 5 Participating schools and address: ♦ School A: SJKT Seri Pelangi ♦ School B: SK Ayer Hitam ♦ School C: SK Taman Seri Kota Number of classes/participants from each of participating schools: ♦ School A: 1 class / 20 ♦ School B: 1 class / 30 ♦ School C: 1 class / 30 Criteria of selecting the students (special interests, prior knowledge, experiences or skills): ♦ Pupils have learnt about recycling in year 4

Recycling is processing used materials (waste) into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials. One of ongoing activity of recycling is 3R’s (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle). The purpose of carrying out recycling activity in school is to create awareness among the students about the benefits and importance of recycling to students from SJKT Seri Pelangi, SK Ayer Hitam and SK Taman Seri Kota. In addition, the pupils are able to work collaboratively and create various products from the recycled materials. The duration of this project is 3 months.
