A Visit to the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida Student Audience Behavior EXPERIENCING LIVE ASSEMBLIES

RULES OF BEHAVIOR 1. Enter the building quietly. Your seats are waiting for you. 2.All students must dispose of any gum, food and drinks before entering the building. 3.Leave all phones and electronics at home for the day. Book bags will be stored in the classroom. 4.Use the restroom after you are seated but before the performance begins. Do not get up to use the restroom during the performance unless there is an emergency. 5.If an emergency situation arises in the theater, the activity will stop and an announcement will come over the loudspeakers. Please listen to the directions, exiting quickly and quietly. 6.Disruptive, disrespectful behavior at any time on the field trip will result in disciplinary action.

EXPERIENCING LIVE ASSEMBLIES Here are some key words to keep in mind: CONCENTRATION! Speakers need concentration to maintain their energy on stage. YOU: Watch in Focused, Attentive Manner!

Here are some key words to keep in mind: QUIET! The rooms are designed to carry sound well. The sounds should come only from the speaker. You: No Whispering or Speaking. Be Respectful!

Here are some key words to keep in mind: RESPECT! Speakers show respect for the audience by presenting their best possible work. They have worked long hours to prepare for this day. YOU: Responsibility to bring your best behavior to the theater.

Here are some key words to keep in mind: APPRECIATION! Presenters appreciate appropriate response to their ideas. YOU: Applause is the best way to share appreciation. Don’t applaud in the middle; wait for an appropriate time.

EXPERIENCING LIVE ASSEMBLIES Here are some key words to keep in mind: COMMON SENSE! YOU: Follow rules of behavior appropriate to any formal public place. Conduct yourself in an orderly, quiet manner. Respect the space of the people around you.

FOLLOW YOUR CHAPERONE TO THE BUS AND BOARD CAREFULLY. BE SURE TO THANK THE DRIVER & CHAPERONES WHEN YOU GET BACK TO TWMS! AT THE END OF THE ASSEMBLY AND PROGRAM

LISTEN! LEARN! BE A PROUD, RESPECTFUL FALCON! ENJOY THE DAY!
