East High Band Scrip Program is Here! Raising $$ for San Francisco and Beyond!

While other fundraising programs are referred to as a “dread,” once it’s up and running, scrip fundraising is simply integrated into your everyday life. Instead of spending money on products you don’t necessarily need, scrip prides itself in being a no-selling fundraiser— the days of going door-to-door in the hopes of selling trinkets are over! Instead, you will be raising money for your organization just by making purchases with scrip gift cards. Unlike other programs that require a large number of participants for a positive outcome, your organization will benefit from solely the scrip purchases you make. That means no more pestering friends and family to sell more products, you will raise enough money just from your everyday purchases like gas and groceries.

How It Works Scrip gift cards are the same gift cards you can purchase from the retailer. With over 300 of the country’s biggest brands, including grocery and department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels and home improvement, GLSC has something to appeal to every family in our organization. Our coordinator orders scrip from GLSC at a discount, and your families pay face value for their gift cards. That difference is an instant rebate for your organization, and your families don’t have to purchase anything they don’t need.

How does the $$ add up? Food$75/week x 4 = $300/month Clothing$ 50/month Gas$25/week x 4 =$100/month Dining out$ 50/month Total$500/month x 12 months = $6000/year 5% = average percentage earned per Scrip order = $300 annual earnings for the Band Boosters.

How Will We Use the Funds? Money raised up until the trip will go to your student’s individual account. During non-trip years, the money raised will go toward items on the Director’s Wish List. Items we have purchased in the past are instruments, field sound system, drum major stands, and many other expenses and supplies.
