Train those administering the AIMS A Science Test and obtain signed Test Administrator Test Security Agreement Forms. Inventory and Distribute the AIMS A Science Performance Task test materials. Monitor the completion of tests. Report all testing incidents to Alternate Assessment Unit using the AIMS A Incident Report. If selected, coordinate the AIMS A Science Test observations by external Educational Consultants. Alternate Assessment Test Coordinator Responsibilities
Training for teachers must be completed prior to teachers administering the AIMS A Science Assessment. Training must include: reviewing test security accessing the AIMS A Application reviewing AIMS A Science item formats preparing test materials (data sheets) using AIMS A Science Performance Task Scoring Rubric Training for Test Administrators
All Alternate Assessment Test Administrators must read and sign the 2016 Alternate Assessments Test Security Agreement (Test Administrator). Test Security Agreement Form for Test Administrators retained by the PEA for 6 years!
AIMS A Science Test Materials Receive performance task test materials Inventory materials Report discrepancies to ADE Return performance task materials to ADE using the return postage paid label provided
Test Materials Inventory
PEAs will be selected at random to be observed by External Educational Consultants. External Observations Assessment monitoring is required to ensure test validity and reliability. State law authorizes monitoring and evaluation activities to determine the effectiveness of programs for meeting the educational needs of children with disabilities. ADE, Alternate Assessment will notify a PEA if selected to be observed. Education Consultant will coordinate the observation with the district or charter Alternate Assessment Test Coordinator.
Monitor the completion of the assessments through the AIMS A Application using the Student Status Report. Monitoring Complete indicates that both AIMS A Science Performance Tasks and Multiple Choice Tasks have been completed.
Students in Grades 4, 8, and 10 are given the AIMS A Science Test. The AIMS A Science format includes multiple choice and performance tasks. All sections must be completed during the testing window FEBRUARY 15 - MARCH 31, ALL testing must be completed during school hours. Administration of the AIMS A Science Test

The Test Administrator completes a Learner Characteristics Inventory Survey for students in Grade 10 participating in AIMS A Science Test. The Learner Characteristics Survey will automatically appear once the testing window is open. To access the AIMS A Science Test, the Test Administrator will click on the student’s SAIS ID. The Assessments a student has been assigned will show here. Once the test is complete, the word “complete” in green print will display in the Status column. The AIMS A Science testing window will close on March 31, Test Administrators will no longer have access to the AIMS A Application after March 31, Time extensions must be requested by the Alternate Assessment Test Coordinator prior to the test window closing (March 31, 2016). If a time extension has been requested and approved, the district or charter Alternate Assessment Test Coordinator will have to complete testing with the student. AIMS A Science Test Window
