Technology innovations for Driving Well-Being June 2015 7

Innovations for sustainable mobility To improve fuel economy and air quality, for many years we have focused our R&D efforts on cleaner and lighter vehicles. Our vision of sustainable mobility involves innovation in four areas: Reducing the weight of cars so they’re more fuel efficient and produce fewer CO2 emissions Reducing pollutant emissions in cars and commercial vehicles to meet the most stringent environmental standards Reducing fuel consumption through utilizing thermal energy from exhaust systems for heating or power Using renewable materials and new manufacturing technologies to reduce vehicle weight and increase product recyclability June 2015 8
