JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH Authored by Alexandria Ochadleus January 2013

It was hard to get to the center of the Earth because of its outer core. This core has three layers to protect the inner core. It took a long time, and we still had a hard time reaching the center.

After hours of digging through the outer cores and before we could reach the center, we had to burrow our way through the middle layers, where we saw many beautiful shiny stones. There were emeralds, rubies and diamonds. They all sparkled.

After many, many, many hours of digging through the outer and middle layers, we finally reached the center. All of this work made us all very hungry! We were all so excited to reach the center.

During our travels, we saw many interesting creations of nature. There was hot lava, cold running water that turned rocks into crystals which were hard on the outside and hollow in the middle. They’re called geodes.

We cracked one open to see what was inside. We were amazed. There, before our very eyes, was the most beautiful purpley-violet colors we have ever seen. Even the nicest princess doesn’t have anything this beautiful.

As our journey to the center of the Earth continued, it got hotter and hotter and hotter. We knew we were entering the center of the Earth. This is the hottest place on Earth.

The center with its lava, rocks, crystals and lava rocks, the center of the Earth was the most beautiful place we’d ever seen. Besides the natural beauty, we learned that when lava is forced up into the rocks it opens walls making its way to the ocean forming beautiful volcanos. Our journey taught us that we can learn so much, and see such beauty by looking from the inside out.
