2010 API Summer Standardization Conference Task Group 8, Work Group 4 Report to TG 8 6/29/2010

Task Group 8, Work Group 4 Charge Revise and Update RP 13K-Barite Chemical Analysis.

Task Group 8, Work Group 4 Roster Marc Churan Scott Gordon Carl LaCombe Keith Morton Marvin Pless Adelina Son Tom Shumate

Task Group 8, Work Group 4 Previous Minutes Marc Churan was volunteered to help revise the outdated API RP 13K document

Work Identified - Add ICP to: Sec 3.1 – General. Sec 3.2 – Barium and Strontium Sulfate. Sec 3.3 – Alumina and Silica. Sec 3.4 – HCl Soluble Metals. Sec 3.5 – Other Acid Soluble Metals. Sec 3.6 – Alternative Iron. Sec 3.7 – Water Soluble Metals. Sec 3.13 – Iron Carbonate. Sec 3.14 – Lead and Zinc Carbonate.

Work Identified – Add IC to: Sec 3.8 – Chlorides. Sec 3.9 – Sulfates. Sec 3.11 – Phosphates.

Work Identified In Section 3.15, Substitute Total Carbonates (Garrett Gas Train Method) for Total Carbonates (Ascarite Method) Add RCRA Metals by ICP (As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Pb, Hg, Se, and As). Consider Caustic Soluble Zn and Pb, CO3, and Sulfide Method.

Task Group 8, Work Group 4 Status Marc Churan completed revisions and they are currently under review by the work group. Edits to be completed by the end of July for submission to Task Group 8 for approval and forwarding for SC 13 vote.
