Policies  SDSU 2:17 Credit Requirements for Graduate Credential Programs SDSU 2:17 Credit Requirements for Graduate Credential Programs  Rules for Credit Sharing between Credentials  Max of 50% of cr hr shared between two of master’s, doctoral, and certificate  Professional Master’s – option D  Patterned off Professional Science Master’s accreditation criteria  Job “types” are clearly identified  No student supervisory committee  30 cr min  Require Program Advisory Board  Program Learning outcomes and metrics are included in approval  Reviewed Annually by the PAB  Comprehensive ‘Capstone’ Experience

What Professional Students want……

Stackable Certificates  Working group formed to develop ‘general structure’  Some Ideas  Student could ‘assemble’ certificates into a master’s degree  Not required to pursue master’s  Allow ‘many’ years to finish master’s  Certificates would focus on specific skills (clear outcomes)  Employers would validate usefulness/relevance of certificates  Certificates would have ‘capstone’ experience  Process to ensure student has truly mastered ‘skills’

Graduate Assistantship Whitepaper SD BOR 5:22  ‘Waive’ of 100% of state support tuition  Currently, waive 2/3 of state support tuition  ‘Waive’ 100% of fees (except General Activity Fee).  GAF = $33.90/ cr [FY16]  Includes Univ Support Fee(s) and program fees.  Revenue Neutral  Possible review/approval by BOR in Dec 2015 meeting  Implementation for FY17 (beginning Summer 2016)
