Let’s Talk What do you presently do in your Noyce project that involves some form of collaboration or partnership? THINK-PAIR-SHARE

What is the PRNP? The PRNP was conceived out of a two year capacity building grant funded by the National Science Foundation. The purpose of the PRNP is to build synergies between entities in order to support Noyce teacher development in the Philadelphia region. The partnership began its work in September Grant funding for PRNP will end in August 2013.

Preservice Teacher Subgroup Accomplishments Sponsored the Noyce Scholars Retreat …a networking event Conducted a three part Ginsburg series with noted teacher coach on Classroom Management Compiled a list of high need schools/districts in the Philadelphia region Drafted a PR piece for Noyce scholars to use when interviewing for jobs Developed relationships with School District of Philadelphia HR personnel Sponsored the Noyce Scholars Retreat …a networking event Conducted a three part Ginsburg series with noted teacher coach on Classroom Management Compiled a list of high need schools/districts in the Philadelphia region Drafted a PR piece for Noyce scholars to use when interviewing for jobs Developed relationships with School District of Philadelphia HR personnel

Inservice Teacher Subgroup Accomplishments Conducted focus group with teachers/administrators on supports for new STEM teachers Interviewed novice teachers about their induction experiences Conducted a literature review regarding support/induction for new (STEM) teachers Ingersoll Talk: What the data tells us about retaining/ supporting new teachers Documented current induction supports of partner institutions Reporting on best practices (in process) Conducted focus group with teachers/administrators on supports for new STEM teachers Interviewed novice teachers about their induction experiences Conducted a literature review regarding support/induction for new (STEM) teachers Ingersoll Talk: What the data tells us about retaining/ supporting new teachers Documented current induction supports of partner institutions Reporting on best practices (in process)

Other Working Group Accomplishments Needs Assessment SubgroupWebsite Subgroup Administered a Needs Assessment Survey to ascertain the activities and perceptions of regional Noyce stakeholders. Preservice teachers Inservice teachers School Administrators Created a mock website to facilitate collaborative connections across all Noyce program participants. Shared Resources Networking Socializing

What We Have Done Together Established new relationships across the region Expanded the reach of programming to support Noyce teachers. Developed an asset map of regional programs and resources Participated in our own professional development (i.e., Social Networking, National Board Certification)

Synergistic Outcomes Master Teacher have hosted internship and student teachers. Workshops hosted by IHEs have been made available to all Noyce scholars. Master Teachers across IHEs are planning upcoming summer conference. Noyce scholars are connecting across IHE programs. Bryn Mawr and U of Penn are offering post baccalaureate programming for Noyce Scholars. Individuals are collaborating in areas outside of PRNP
