What are they?

 A device that is used to determine some type of aspect of weather.  They can be used by people such as the government or as simple as a machine that can be used in the classroom  What types of Weather instruments can you think of??

 Thermometer  Barometer  Rain Gauge  Anemometer  Weather Balloon  Weather Satellites  Compass  Hygrometer  Wind-sock

Grade 4/5 Science Room 20

Step 1: Get into partners Step 2: Find out your Weather Instrument Step 3: Make sure you understand the handout for your assigned Weather Instrument

 You need to research to find the information about your Weather Instrument on the areas on the handout  You need to record your information on the handout and make a sketch of some sort of the instrument  You need to make a poster with the information and the picture that will be all about the Weather Instrument

 Use some of the websites listed to find information about your instrument  Fill out all the areas on the handout (you can always add extra information as well)  Make the sketch of your instrument  Both students should be taking part in the research….  One student could research for the first half while the other records and then they can switch

 Take the information from your handout and make sure at least some of the points are on the poster  The name of the Weather Instrument needs to be on the poster  Should have a visual of the Weather Instrument or a detailed description of what the instrument looks like  Should have some color to make things stand out

 We will have lap tops  Main Goal is to get all the information filled out on the handout  This is your time to find out all about the information you can on your instrument
